The slave matriach Ellen Mathews Fisher (b, 1843-abt. 1920 in Virginia) resided on the plantation of James Edward O'Kelley (b. 1824 - 1867) where he fathered her sons Daniel Smith and Will Dock O'Kelley (b. 1862-1930, 1867-1927 respectfully). Following J.E.O'Kelley's death, his brother John Beatty O'Kelley (b. 1836-1899) fathered a child with Ellen, Charles Edward O'Kelley (b. 1871-1943) Dan, Will & Charles migrated in the Mississippi cities of Magenta, Natchez and Greenville. Dan died in Greenville, MS; Will died in Memphis, TN; Charles died in Chicago, IL. Maiden names of female ancestral participants and male surname ancestral participants are included in the Surname Project list section.
