The Borders Surname Project
This Group has identified the MALE descendants of Matthias/Matthaus Bader born 1707 Jettenburg GER & arrived PA 1752 Lancaster County. His three sons became George Borders 1733 GER (m Salome Baltensperger), John Borders 1741 GER (no marriage found), and Michael Borders 1751 GER (m Mary Hopton). I descend from Michael. German immigrant surnames similar to Bader (Baeder, Baader, Bodder, etc)were also altered to Border & Borders. We now have two male descendants of Peter Borders 1756 PA within our group, and two male descendants of Christopher Borders 1763 PA, and their matching Y-chromosomes proved that they are descendants of John Bodders/Borders (of 1756 Bucks Co PA and 1790 Rowan Co NC). We need & want other Borders to join so that we can identify their correct male family trees & continue our search for origins. Records indicate that Jacob Borders 1763 PA and Henry Borders 1772 NC are also sons of this John, but we need to prove it with the Y-chromosomes of their male descendants. To receive charts of proven family trees and charts of trees being constructed, send your known MALE Borders line & your USmail address to William Borders, 235 Sotir St NW, Ft Walton Beach, FL 32548-4263 (Texborders@aol.com)phone 850-862-1500. I am in good health, but I am 88 years old. I would appreciate some speed in your decision to join our group.
