The Caucasus Surname Project
Project goals The primary objectives of the Caucasus projects are to: A. Support research aimed at defining the genetic composition and interrelatedness of the speakers of the Caucasian language family: Georgians, Adyghes, Vainakhs and Dagestanis. Other Caucasians (Armenians, Azeris, Ossetians etc.) are also welcome to join the project. B. Test the theories relating the autochthonous population of the Caucasus with the ancient civilizations of the Middle East, Anatolia and the Mediterranean. C. Searching for the possible links connecting the Caucasians with Basques, Sardinians and Corsicans.
