The Epp Surname Project
Description:
This Project has been established for the purpose of grouping the various ?Epp? immigrant lines in North America through y-DNA testing and matching. The initial test is that of a descendent of the emigrant Epp line from Baden. This line has been researched and documented back to the mid-1600s at Balzfeld/Horrenberg. Other immigrant Epp lines are known to have emigrated from Russia, Bavaria, Rhine-Bavaria, France, Austria and England. Variant spellings of the surname, i.e., Ebb and App, are likely to be genetically similar to one or more of the known Epp lines. The administrators of this Project have collected an extensive database of information on Epp family members across North America, and to some extent, in Europe. They will share their information with other researchers seeking to research their Epp family lines while encouraging the contribution of 37-marker y-DNA test results to this Project. Persons interested in proceeding with a DNA test should contact us for information regarding a reduced testing fee. The submission of a 4 generation family tree, while not a prerequisite, will also be encouraged. Comments/suggestions regarding the above will always be welcome.
