The Filbert-Philbert Surname Project

Description:

Filbert / Philbert Family genealogy dates back to the 1700s in Charles County, Maryland, and Stafford County, Virginia. Members of the family migrated to central Kentucky (Winchester area), then Indiana, Missouri, California, and Alabama where families currently live and contribute to the documentation of this line. The Haplotype G shows up in the first kit in the Project. This is unusual, not European as we had thought previously and we would like to know more about the migrations of this family. The Haplotype G comes from the Fertile Crescent and migrated east. It is found in small numbers around the world, possibly indicating a shipping culture, trade merchants, other travellers.
