The Pickerel Surname Project

Description:

Pickerel surname and all its variant spellings. The first goal of this project is to determine the relationships of all the Pickerels (and variants) in America between 1600 to the mid 1800's. 25 June 2010 Good news! We now have 3 members (Hugh, Robert and James) in our Pickerel Project. It looks like Hugh descends from the Solomon Pickerel-Anna Keesee line out of Virginia. Robert test shows he shares a common ancestor with Hugh, but at this point we only know he descends from James Pickerel born about 1810 in Green County KY. Robert's line is being researched by lwhittaker44@att.net James test shows him to be a different Pickrell line. He appears to descend from John Pickrell who was born in England about 1750. He came to North Carolina and married Catherine Wireman. James' family is being research by jamie.pickrell@gmail.com The more people tested, the closer we come to understand the relationship of the many Pickerel/Pickrel, Pickrells.
