The Sebring Surname Project
Description:
In 1975 "The Sebring Collections" was published, containing research conducted over many years by Walter Wilson Sebring and John Cletus Sebring. (The book has been reissued and can be ordered online.) The work attempted to connect all known Sebrings in the United States to immigrant ancestor Jan Roelofse Sebring, who came to New Amsterdam from the Netherlands in the 17th century. Many lines, however, particularly those originating in Western New York state, could not be connected due to the limited records in that region. The purpose of this project is to determine whether there is a genetic connection between these lines, even if the relationship cannot be documented through records. We welcome male participants with the surname Sebring, Seabring, or any variation that may be connected.
