The Skaggs Family Project is open to all who are interested in working together to find their common heritage through sharing of information and dna testing. All variant spellings are welcome. Most SKAGGS families in living in the US today believe they are descendants of James and Rachel SKAGGS, who were born near the beginning of the 18th century and lived primarily in Virginia and/or North Carolina. The relationship between some of their descendants is unclear. There may also be other, distinct, SKAGGS families living in the US in the 17th Century.
