The Straigis Surname Project
Description:
Straigis, Strages, Stragis, Strygas and any other reasonable spelling variations are welcome to join the project. Only males have Y-Chromosomes so only Straigis/etc. males can participate. If you are a female, you can have a Straigis male relative submit a sample for your line. Participants will need to share their direct male lineage back to their earliest known Straigis/etc. ancestor, either in the form of a pedegree chart or family group sheets (excluding living persons.)Requirements:Since a Surname Project in essense traces members of a family that share a common surname, and females (a) do not carry their father's Y-DNA, and (b) acquire a new by the way of marriage, in order to be relevent to the Surname Project, the tested individual must be a male who wants to check his paternal line ( his father's. father's father's....The test to be ordered is either the Y-12, Y-25 or Y 37. And females should look for a father, brother, uncle, nephew or a male cousin who carries the Straigis/etc. surname. Females can also order several test for themselve including mtDNA, mtDNA plus but the results of those test cannot be tied to the Surname Project.Questions? Contact the Straigis Group Administrator.
