The Strickler Surname Project
Description:
The surname Strickler was used in Switzerland as early as the 1400s. It appears to have been adopted by families living in a particular location near Wädenswil, along a mountain path known as the Strick. This surname project is open to anyone from any part of the world who bears the surname Strickler or who believes themselves to be descended from a Strickler anywhere along the direct paternal (all-male) line (father's father's father, etc.) or the direct maternal (all-female) line (mother's mother's mother, etc.). It is hoped that this project will yield genetic evidence for degrees of kinship or non-relatedness between various family lines when documentary evidence is lacking or ambiguous. It is further hoped that the results will supplement the documentary evidence for sorting families into their respective branches of the Strickler family tree.
