Goals: DNA testing to establish evidence showing linkages between 'Lestrange/ Strange/ Strang/ Stronge/ Strong' lineages. Variant spellings have evolved over the centuries. Many present day surname variant families with roots in England, Scotland, Ireland and around the world may indeed be related. Related goals are to [1] study the DNA roots of certain 'Strang/Strong' families found in Ulster and the rest of Ireland to determine relationships, possibly to other Scots-Irish families. [A related study examines 'deep roots' of Anglo-Scottish Border Reiver Families.] [2] study the DNA roots of Strange/Stronge/Strong/LeStrange families originating primarily in England to find relationships between various lineages, or to distinguish them by identifying "modal" haplotypes for known lineages.
