The Trux-Trucks Surname Project

Description:

This project seeks to study male straight line descendants of George Trucks who died before 13 October 1766 in Frederick County, Maryland. Susannah Trucks, wife of George Trucks of Frederick County, had nine sons according to a letter her son John Trux wrote, found in his Revolutionary War pension file. Five of George Trucks? sons were in the Revolutionary war (George, William, John, Peter and Nicholas). Two other of Susannah?s sons were thought to be from her marriage to George: Phillip Trucks (born 1766) and Henry Trux (born between 1760 and 1770). An early signature of George Trucks shows that he spelled his name Drucks. He is thought to have come to Pennsylvania from Germany. All men with the surname Trux, Trucks, or Drucks are welcome to join the project.
