Using the techniques of genetic genealogy, this site is dedicated to preserving, protecting and promoting the heritage and genealogy of the Van Pelt family in America. Most of the Van Pelts in America descend from a common ancestor - Teunis Jansen Laenen van Pelt or his older brother, Mathys Jansen Laenen van Pelt. Some of the Van Pelts are more recent immigrants from the Netherlands. Presumably, every Van Pelt family ultimately connects back to Pelt!
