The Whitecotton Surname Project
Description:
The Whitecotton DNA Project is for all who wish to work together to find their common heritage through DNA testing and sharing of information. The family appears to have originated in Northumberland/Stafford Co., Virginia Colony, during the 1600s and may descend from John Cotton and Anne White. We welcome any males with the Whitecotton surname to test with the project. We encourage all participants to also test their maternal mtDNA as well as their paternal Y chromosome DNA.A goal is to see if we do or do not match the Cotton Y DNA.If you join the study, please send your direct Whitecotton ancestry to the coordinators.
